Party Plans!

Theme: Alice In Wonderland/ Mad Hatter's Tea Party
(which is planned at a public park near our house that has shelters with picnic tables and a grill)


Plans:
Before the pathway up to the shelter, an black archway will represent the entrance (falling down the hole) with Peter the rabbit at the beginning. While the guests are arriving, music will be playing from the modern and cartoon Alice in Wonderland. Signs will go down the pathway saying this way, that way, down, up, right way, wrong way.
In the shelter, three picnic benches will be lined up horizontally and I will sit in the middle and every fifteen minutes we’ll switch seats (like in the book) so that I get to sit next to everyone and to keep the original story.
The table will be decorated with mitch match table cloths, napkins, teapots, tea cups, plates, cuttery, cups and bottles. There will be anything kooky we can find on the table and lanterns and lights will be hung around (still following the story)
The mitch match cups and bottles and mason jars that we use to drink from will be tagged with signs that say Drink Me and there will be finger foods provided. For my cake, (preferably carrot) We will make a normal rectangle cake and cut it into even, smaller cakes and cover it with buttercream icing and write Eat Me in piping.
Goody bags will be filled with a cookie with Eat Me on it, bubbles, stickers, pack of playing cards and
Games:
Water Balloon Fight:
Using the more modern movie, red and white balloons will be water filled. Representing the Red Queen and White Queen on the Frabjous day.
Futterwacken Contest:
Basically a dance party where we dance to modern music.
Croquet:
Spray paint pink (the clubs) and possibly paint the balls to look like hedgehogs.
Pinata:
Get a dragon-like Jabberwocky to represent slaying the Jabberwocky
MAYBE: Painting the roses red contest:
We will buy fake white flowers and have a contest as to painting them red.
Decorations:
Pink plastic flamingoes will be placed throughout the shelter and streamers will be hung up and
cards will be throughout the place.
Character stands will be set up such as the queen of hearts, the knave, peter the rabbit and ESPECIALLY the mad hatter.

Do you like the new or cartoon version of Alice in Wonderland?
I like both. Probably the new one better but the original is great too.
